‘Whoever finds his life, will lose it and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it‘
I remember when I first met David and Nancy, It was before the Romanian Revolution in 1989 . We met secretly in a leader’s apartment, to discuss the need of Christian literature . Nancy wrote down all the details. Over the years, thousands of N.T. and Bibles for adults and children were packed in their car and brought all the way to Romania. Nancy never saw the people who got the precious Word of God in their hands , but I am sure she will meet many changed lives in eternity.
From time to time, David and Nancy were taken to visit possible church sites in villages, Nancy took notes and photos, shared the needs and raised the funds. Today there are dozens of such church buildings across our land. Nancy didn’t know many of the believers personally, but they got to know their Lord better. One of these churches is a gypsy church in Gura Raului, where GLO Romania has an active ministry among adults and children.
.
She never took any meetings, but she listened to every sermon and lecture David gave in churches and in the Bible School, always rewarding him (and the translator)with a cup of tea and biscuits. It was her job to encourage and support the preacher, while God used the messages to make many young Christians grow.
Nancy loved meeting people, children & adults if they knew English or not. She always had a smile and a word of encouragement, when not in Romania, she often phoned to get updates about gypsy work, children’s work, bible school and church ministry and got others to pray for the people involved
She delivered all the bibles available, raised all the funds she was able to, encouraged as many people as possible, drove as many miles as she could. Some of the people she so diligently lived and worked for never knew her. Others knew her and appreciated all she did. Some of us had the great privilege to know her as a close and dear friend
We miss her greatly, but we know the work she started along with David will continue through the people that she lived for.
