When we heard of the suffering of God's people in Romania 20 years ago we resolved to do all we could to meet them and their needs.

We sent and took Bibles and other Christian literature to Romania and elsewhere.

When we visited them we found not a broken disheartened church but a faithful, praying, dynamic church that encouraged and challenged us. This gave us a desire to soothe those in the fire of persecution and warm those frozen by the apathy and indifference of a materialistic society.

Situations changed radically in 1989 but the need for literature, Bible teaching and mutual encouragement remains to this day.

Paul writes in 1 Thessalonians 3 "We sent Timothy to strengthen and encourage you in your faith" and in verse 6 "Timothy has just now come to us from you and has brought good news about your faith and love."

Timothy was also encouraged to entrust the things you have heard me say to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others who in turn will also be qualified to teach others...

This is the heartbeat of "Operation Timothy"

In a time of revolution

Nancy and David Nunn had been working with the people of Eastern Europe ,trying to help the Church groups for a number of years when the almost unthinkable happened!

One by one the Russians, and the Romanians, became free.

Far from stopping our work we saw this as a great opening to help freely, those that we had worked with for so long in secret. Here was a door for so long almost totally shut now standing wide open, the books and help that for so long had gone in one or two at a time could now go in by the ton and on the basis of this Operation timothy was born we have had contact with many good hard working people, in Eastern Europe now for 25 years. Seeing them plant new Churches Bible clubs for children, running summer camps for teens & Twenty’s.

When I say we enjoy being part of it as supporters and helpers it hardly says what I really feel. Freedom to worship, and live and play, is a wonderful thing,at the moment they still need our help and we will be there for them as long as is possible.
