NANCY NUNN DIED MAY 1 2009 Nancy believed it is a christians ultimate destiny to finish this life in the presence of God, and until that time was her ultimate responsibility to take as many others as possible with her.

Nancy was born in Cornsay, Co Durham on Dec 12 1943 into a family background where God and the gospel affected every thing in life. At first this war time baby's life was hard, Mum work in an ammunition factory, some of Dad's land was used as a practice ground for troops and the homeguard. In her teens Nancy gave her life to Jesus and soon led some of her School friends to the Lord. Missionary books became a great part of her reading :she talked of listening to every news bulletin as the story of Jim Elliot unfolded. Nancys reaction to it all was that she wanted to become a missionary .Someone handed her a book the story of John and Betty Stam. From then until the day, she died Nancy wanted to take the Gospel to China. Nancy started to have her holidays at Capernray Hall , on one such holiday she met David the man she was married to for 43 years.

Together they reached a point of commitment where they knew God was calling them into mission. After 2 years of interviews and applications they started work for Christian Mission to the Communist World in 1985 and latterly for Operation Timothy . In July 1985 Nancy was giving out gospels and new testaments in Vienna to visitors from Eastern Europe, 5 Hungarian lady's took new testaments from her. another lady ran up to Nancy to ask for one,but there were none left and she walked away with tears steaming down her face. That was the day Nancy vowed she would get as many Bibles, new testaments and Gospels into Eastern Europe as she possibly could. From that day until she died Nancy has kept on working sending out well over seven hundred thousand John's gospels alone with thousands of bibles and new testaments. She sent literature to every country in Eastern Europe,Turkey, Elat in Israel and Bibles and New testaments to China.

She was so grateful to those who worked and gave to make it possible. We shall miss her greatly as we face the days ahead as a family and Operation Timothy . Please keep on praying for us all as God works out His will in our lives Yours in His Service
DAVID NUNN
